MCC Grant Application Start

Welcome to the Multicultural Council Proposal Application Website.

The Multicultural Council (MCC) provides financial co-sponsorship to student organizations coordinating multicultural programs or traveling to multicultural conferences. The primary purpose of the Multicultural Fund is to improve the cultural climate at the University by increasing the number of events on campus that educate on the issues and represent the histories and cultures of ethnic minorities.

MCC seeks program and travel proposals that increase leadership opportunities for students of color. MCC has a legacy of supporting quality programs that contribute to the cultural understanding of our campus community and link faculty, staff, students and community organizations. Some activities supported by MCC include cultural performances, student organized multicultural conferences, film screenings, national and regional conferences and lectures.

In order to be eligible for funding, proposals must be submitted according to scheduled deadlines (click to see deadline and meeting times). All proposal applications received by deadline must be presented before MCC for funding determination on specified meeting dates (click to see meeting times).

Here are some strategies to assist you in successfully applying for MCC funding:

  1. Read through the guidelines and instructions carefully, watch for funding restrictions and provide required supporting materials (speaker biographies, airline quotes etc).
  2. Have all your event's financial and budget information organized and in front of you before filling out the application.
  3. Prepare a publicity plan.
  4. Seek cosponsorships and other funding sources.
  5. Review the "Planning an event tutorial." (web site coming soon)
  6. Review the sample completed proposal application. (Samples are available after you log into the application form.)
  7. Complete the application.

MCC commends student organizations like yours for playing such a crucial role in creating a more positive campus climate for all students. Good luck with your program!
